One of the largest and oldest convents in the Philippines, standing beside San Isidro Labrador Church (Lazi Church) — completed 1891 in traditional Bahay na Bato style, a two-story structure that housed Spanish friars during the colonial period. Declared a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum in 2001. The church itself, completed 1884, is one of the oldest and largest stone churches in the Visayas, and the pairing (church + convent) is on the tentative UNESCO World Heritage list under ‘Baroque Churches of the Philippines.’
