Description

Practically important beyond its own character: Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport and Sibulan’s port (for the ferry crossing to Liloan/Bato in southern Cebu) both sit here, not in Dumaguete proper — worth knowing before assuming Dumaguete handles all arrivals and departures. Beyond that transit role, Sibulan has its own gentle coastal curve shaped by fishing communities, walkable shoreline barangays, and — moving inland — a ridge zone and foothill belt where the coast gradually gives way to upland settlement, plus a river corridor and quiet rural plains further in. A legitimate slow-travel stop in its own right if you have time beyond just passing through to the airport or port.

HOW TO GET THERE: 10-15 minutes by tricycle from central Dumaguete, or your first stop if arriving by air.

BEST TIME: Morning for the port/fishing activity; otherwise no strong time-of-day pull.
