Ilog River Fishing Area
Description
River fishing grounds used by local communities. In Ilog, a river town on the southwest coast, named for the river itself. Landings run on the boats, not on shop hours — the catch comes ashore early and is gone to the markets by mid-morning. Buying at the landing means lower prices and whatever came in that day rather than a choice. Worth timing a visit at first light if you want to see how the day’s supply actually starts.
Tips
The river organises everything here — fishing, farming and settlement all follow it inland. Follow the river road rather than staying on the highway if you want to see it.
Stops
Western Coastal Food Chain
How to get there

Best Times
Early morning — markets, landings and roadside stalls all run hardest before 8am.
