Amlan Fish Landing Area
Description
Small fish landing point used by outrigger fishermen in Amlan. In Amlan, a small east-coast town between Dumaguete and Tanjay. Landings run on the boats, not on shop hours — the catch comes ashore early and is gone to the markets by mid-morning. Buying at the landing means lower prices and whatever came in that day rather than a choice. Worth timing a visit at first light if you want to see how the day’s supply actually starts.
Tips
This is an ordinary working town market without tourist traffic, which is the point — expect no English signage and no fixed prices. Buy fruit in season and vinegar direct from makers at roadside stalls rather than in the market building.
