Bago City: Rice Plains & the Coastal-to-River Corridor
Description
Bago sits along the coast south of Bacolod, with a working landscape of rice plains, sugar heartland, and a river corridor rather than a developed tourist scene — genuinely more agricultural-heartland than heritage-town or beach-town.
A legitimate slow-travel stop if you’re driving the coast road south from Bacolod toward Kabankalan/Sipalay rather than flying directly, giving a real look at the rice-and-sugar economy that defines inland Negros Occidental away from the heritage circuit further north.
HOW TO GET THERE: On the main coastal route south of Bacolod, en route toward Kabankalan and the western coastal towns covered elsewhere in this project.
BEST TIME: Daytime; no particular seasonal draw beyond general dry-season road-condition preference.
