Calea
Description
Café / pastry shop — Bacolod’s best-known cake and pastry institution, founded by Ging Consing (the name Calea comes from her daughters Carissa and Leanne). Main branch at Balay Quince Building, 15th Street corner Lacson Street, directly across from L’Fisher Hotel. Over 15 years running, widely regarded as a genuine city institution rather than just a popular café — reflects Negros’ sugar-industry heritage in a modern pastry-shop format. Best-sellers are the chocolate cake and white chocolate cheesecake. Tagline: ‘Life is Sweeter in Bacolod.’ Now has additional branches inside Robinsons Place Bacolod and other malls, but the Lacson Street original is the one locals send visitors to.
