Description

Hospital — Government tertiary teaching hospital — the region’s main public referral hospital, 1,000-bed capacity, on Lacson-Burgos Street. Founded 1926 as the Occidental Negros Provincial Hospital with just 25 beds; occupied by Japanese forces during WWII, reopened 1945, renamed to its current name in 1968 in honor of the donor of the land it sits on. The heritage building was declared a National Historical Site in 2012 for its American-era architecture. Accredited across 10+ medical specialties, PhilHealth-accredited for cancer screening, HIV treatment, and other national health packages.
