Pulangbato Falls
Description
Also called Malabo Falls after the barangay it sits in, this waterfall is known for the reddish-orange rock coloring caused by mineral and sulfur deposits in the water flowing off Mount Talinis — hence ‘pulang bato,’ red rock. Unlike Casaroro, it’s just a short walk from the road, making it the easier of Valencia’s two well-known falls to reach, with a swimming area at the base. Along the approach road there’s a visible steam vent with a sulfuric smell, tied to the same geothermal activity that feeds Red Rock Hot Spring nearby.
