Pulangbato Falls
Description
Waterfall — ‘pulangbato’ means ‘red rock,’ and the rust-coloured stones around the falls are the reason: sulfur deposits from the geothermal activity of nearby Mount Talinis (Cuernos de Negros) stain them. Also called Twin Falls or Malabo Falls, in Barangay Malabo. Unlike Casaroro, there’s essentially no trek — the falls sit inside a resort just off the road, with parking, restrooms, showers, a restaurant and cottages. Entrance has been reported around ₱100 adults / ₱50 children, though older sources cite ₱25, so fees have clearly risen — confirm on arrival. Three separate waterfalls sit inside the resort grounds. On the drive in you’ll pass steaming ground and roadside sulfur vents that smell strongly of rotten eggs. About 6.8km from Valencia town plaza — habal-habal, tricycle or car distance.
