Quezon Park
Description
The historic town-center plaza directly across from the Cathedral and its belfry — where Gen. Diego de la Viña’s revolutionary forces gathered on Dumaguete’s liberation day, November 25, 1898, while church bells rang from the watchtower and Padre Bengoa held mass. Today it’s a functioning public park with a playground, gazebo, a few vintage cannons, and open lawn — hosts community events and is genuinely used by locals, not just a monument. Forms the historic core of downtown alongside the Cathedral and Belfry directly beside it.
