Officially Bonbonon Bay, a natural harbour at the southern tip of Negros Oriental near Siaton, known among sailors as one of the best-protected anchorages in the Visayas — sheltered enough to ride out typhoon winds. A working fishing village and small wharf sit alongside a handful of higher-end resorts (Tambobo Beach Club, Tongo Sail Inn among them) that cater to boat traffic as much as beach tourism; the beaches inside the bay itself aren’t the main draw, but Malatapay and Maluay nearby have better sand, and Apo Island’s dive sites are a short crossing away. A Ro-Ro port at Barangay Bonbonon now runs boat traffic toward Mindanao.
