Siaton – Lake Balanan
- Siaton town to Lake Balanan, Negros Oriental
- July 13, 2026
The full crossing of northern Negros, following the Negros Occidental Eco-Tourism Highway from Bacolod over the central uplands and down to San Carlos on the east coast. The road leaves the city through a lowland sugarcane stretch, passes Murcia town proper — the transition point from city edge to agricultural upland — then begins the climb in stages. Roadside fruit stalls and simple eateries sit along the lower sections, and Murcia’s public market shows how food and supplies move inland. Higher up, the road follows a ridge where fog can drop visibility in wet weather and in the mornings. Pull-offs at Jomax’s Peak and the Malatan-og viewing deck open onto the upland landscape, with Malatan-og Falls visible from the roadside deck. Past Don Salvador Benedicto town centre the road descends the eastern side of the range to San Carlos and the Tañon Strait coast, where ferries connect to Cebu.
