Description

Typical roadside produce cluster used by locals and visitors heading between Dauin and Dumaguete. In Dauin, the dive town south of Dumaguete, better known underwater than above. Public markets here run hardest before 8am, when the night’s catch is in and upland produce has just come down; by late morning it’s mostly dry goods and leftovers. Prices are negotiable in the wet and dry sections. Worth a stop for muscovado, tablea and native sweets at market rather than shop prices — bring small notes and your own bag.

Tips
The roadside vegetable stalls between Dauin and Dumaguete are cheaper than either town"s market and worth stopping at on the way past. Access roads to the beachfront restaurants and brewery are rough and easy to miss from the highway — watch for small signs rather than expecting a clear turn.
