Dumaguete – Bais – Mabinay

Dumaguete – Bais – Mabinay
Dumaguete – Bais – Mabinay

Description

The main route from Dumaguete into the island’s interior, following the coastal highway north through Sibulan, San Jose, Amlan and Tanjay to Bais, then turning inland and climbing to Mabinay. The coastal half is flat, steady highway driving through a string of towns, each with its own market and junction rhythm. From Bais the character changes: the road leaves the coast and works up into limestone country, with long stretches between settlements. Mabinay sits at the top of this section and functions as the interior junction of southern Negros — from here the road continues west toward Kabankalan and the Occidental side, which is what gives this drive its role in cross-island movement rather than just scenery.
