Dumaguete – Red Rock – Pulangbato

Dumaguete – Red Rock – Pulangbato
Dumaguete – Red Rock – Pulangbato

Description

The climb from Dumaguete through Valencia into the geothermal valley behind it, ending at the Red Rock hot springs and Pulangbato Falls at around 540 metres. Past Valencia the road narrows and works up into the valley, where the geothermal character becomes literal: sulphur vents on the slopes, the red-stained rock that names the hot springs, and the falls running over the same mineral ground. The sites sit close together at the top of the road, which makes this a compact half-day drive with a clear endpoint rather than a wandering route.
