Siaton Coastal Fishing Villages
Siaton Coastal Fishing Villages

Description

Cluster of small fishing villages along the Siaton coastline. In Siaton, the southernmost town of Negros Oriental, coastal and upland at once. Landings run on the boats, not on shop hours — the catch comes ashore early and is gone to the markets by mid-morning. Buying at the landing means lower prices and whatever came in that day rather than a choice. Worth timing a visit at first light if you want to see how the day’s supply actually starts.

Tips
Coastal and upland production sit far apart in the same municipality; pick one or the other for a half day rather than trying to cover both. Cassava drying slabs are roadside and visible without needing to stop.

How to get there
On the main highway route through this part of the island; Ceres buses and jeepneys serving the corridor pass through.
Best Times
